βI am a resident therefore work and am treated as such. My time holds little value. Countless times my schedule has been altered to meet the programs needs without my consent and many times with last minute notification. Often on weeknights and weekends I am still working despite being "off." That being said the work and educational experience has provided me the ability to become a very competent provider as my program places a strong emphasis on autonomy. My medical knowledge is umpteen times stronger than it was when I started. β
