Planned October 15–21, 2026 promotion · Reviewed October 14
Juno announced fixed rates as low as 3.80%.
Juno’s October 14 partner update revised the announced starting rate to 3.80% and described a planned October 15–21 promotion. Its offer details describe a five-year term for qualifying graduates with more than $100,000 in existing student loan balances. Eligible degrees cited include MD, DO, DDS, DVM, PharmD, JD, MBA, and other qualifying graduate degrees.
The minimum is not guaranteed. It includes the 0.25% autopay discount and Juno’s negotiated discount. Creditworthiness and lender approval still determine your offer.
This is a dated announcement, not a live rate quote. At our October 14 review, Juno’s public refinance page still displayed a different minimum. We have not verified a cutoff time or which application step must be completed by the deadline. Confirm availability and deadline requirements with Juno, and check Juno’s current terms and your personalized offer before making a decision.
Who should compare quotes?
A useful place to start
Borrowers with higher-rate private loans, stable income, and room for the new payment. Compare several lenders using the same payoff date, then compare their protections and total cost.
Pause for a benefits review
Borrowers pursuing PSLF, relying on income-driven payments, anticipating income changes, or unsure about their employment path. A graduate degree and large balance alone do not make refinancing suitable.
Federal loans: this decision is permanent.
Private refinancing pays off the federal loans you select and replaces them with private debt. Those refinanced loans permanently lose federal income-driven repayment, PSLF and other federal forgiveness eligibility, and federal deferment, forbearance, and discharge protections. Private lender benefits vary.
Federal Direct Consolidation is a different process that keeps loans federal. You can also compare refinancing only your private loans while retaining your federal loans. Not qualifying for PSLF today does not remove the value of other federal benefits.

A lower rate. A different monthly payment.
Here is an illustration with a $200,000 balance. These are fixed-rate, fully amortizing loans, with no fees, missed payments, or extra payments. The 3.80% scenario is hypothetical; it is not a quote or a promise of savings.
| Scenario | Monthly | Interest |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a 6.50% loan · 5 years left | $3,913 | $34,794 |
| Illustrative 3.80% refinance · 5 years | $3,665 | $19,917 |
| Keep a 6.50% loan · 10 years left | $2,271 | $72,515 |
With the same five-year payoff date, the illustrative refinance saves about $14,877 in interest. Compared with ten years remaining at 6.50%, the five-year refinance raises the monthly payment by about $1,394, even though interest falls.
These examples do not model income-driven repayment or forgiveness, or price the loss of federal protections. A longer refinance term may reduce payments while increasing total interest. Compare APR, fixed versus variable rates, fees, and the lender’s hardship and death/disability terms.
