The Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE) serves as a cornerstone of this advancement, bringing together multidisciplinary teams to accelerate translational research in MRI, CT, and PET imaging. With an expanding focus on artificial intelligence—supported by Ohio State’s designation as an ACR Recognized Center for Healthcare-AI (ARCH-AI)—as well as theranostics and advanced imaging technologies, and ongoing renovations to support state-of-the-art infrastructure and collaborative team science, the CIE is strengthening its role in discovery, education, and training the next generation of imaging scientists.

Clinically, Radiology is rapidly expanding to meet growing patient demand and support the Wexner Medical Center’s Impact 2035 strategic vision. This includes major investments in new and renovated facilities, such as the recently opened 820-bed inpatient hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center. In parallel, the department is extending its reach through new ambulatory care centers in New Albany, Dublin, and Powell, alongside established imaging sites across the region—enhancing access, capacity, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered imaging services.
The Division of Neuroradiology focuses on all aspects of Neuroradiology, in particular, MRI and CT interpretations of the brain, spine, head and neck, and image-guided procedures of the spine and neck. Neuroradiology enjoys excellent collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with referring specialty services, and serves a busy Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a large NCI-Designated Cancer Center.
Neuroradiology faculty provide outstanding teaching to fellows, residents and medical students, and serve as teaching faculty for thriving Neuroradiology Fellowship, Diagnostic Radiology Residency, and Integrated IR/DR Residency training programs.
