Questions to ask the employer

  • Is $190,600–$301,200 base salary only, or expected total compensation including bonus and productivity?
  • The posted pay sits below what 85 Pulmonology physicians report (national median $460,000) — what closes that gap: productivity upside, bonus, equity, or schedule?
  • The posted range is wide — what specifically places a candidate at the top versus the bottom of it?
  • What is the call schedule, and is call compensated separately or built into the base?
  • How many weeks of PTO and CME time are included, and is unused time paid out?
