Job Title:Physician - Cardiovascular Medicine, Vascular Physician (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Department:

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a board-certified/ board-eligible vascular medicine provider to join an elite team of academic physicians at the assistant or associate professor rank. The successful candidate will focus on both routine and complex coronary artery disease, including inpatient and outpatient consultative and primary services in a world- class facility at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital. Interests in clinical and extramurally funded research are desirable. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both basic, translational, and clinical research settings.

  • Board Eligible/Certified
  • Successful completion of a vascular medicine fellowship
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Eligible for an Ohio License
  • Clinical and Extramurally funded research desirable

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

The division of cardiovascular medicine team embodies excellence through a fusion of expertise, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled care. Our distinguished team of over 60 cardiologists and specialists is dedicated to providing superior cardiovascular care for patients with a wide range of conditions in general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. We excel in managing complex coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and advanced heart disease through a variety of innovative approaches, including catheter-based interventions, advanced imaging techniques, and personalized medical therapies.

Our focus extends beyond immediate patient care to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine through groundbreaking research and education. Our faculty, renowned for their contributions to the field, are instrumental in training the next generation of cardiologists through both integrated and traditional fellowship programs, which include a core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of cardiovascular care with research aimed at developing novel treatments and refining existing therapies.

Faculty Defined

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor,

or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.
