The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking an academically oriented full-time Hematopathologist to join our growing department. This faculty position offers a rich opportunity for involvement in a diverse and high-volume pathology practice, coupled with significant research and teaching prospects.
The department is experiencing rapid growth and has established a subspecialization practice model, performing over 5 million tests and accessioning over 45,000 surgical pathology cases annually with a large case variety. Our Hematopathology service supports a robust Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology service with over 3,500 Bone Marrow and 6,000 Flow Cytometry cases per year.
The Department and The University of Kansas Health System, with an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, provides rich opportunities for clinical and translational research, both within the Department and within the Medical Center.
The successful candidate should possess strong diagnostic skills with subspecialty training or experience in Hematopathology. In addition to participating in diagnostic sign out of 1 or 2 subspecialty areas, the candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, and develop research projects reflective of his/her own interests.
Required Qualifications:
MD, MD/Ph.D., DO or equivalent
Board certified/board eligible in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology
Fellowship training or experience in Hematopathology
Eligibility for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
