South Shore University Hospital, formerly known as Southside Hospital, is a 341-bed tertiary care hospital that is a major referral center for Suffolk County, Long Island. Centers of excellence include cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurosciences, women's health, and pulmonary. It has multiple specialty ICUs including medical, surgical, cardiothoracic, and neuro. There are multiple residency programs within the hospital, including internal medicine, surgery, ER, and OB/Gyn. Located 30 miles east of NYC and near some of the best beaches in the US, the area has a lot to offer.
