Job Description:

The Pediatric Transplant Quality Manager is responsible for leading quality, regulatory, and performance improvement activities across pediatric solid organ transplant programs. This role oversees compliance with OPTN/UNOS requirements, CMS Conditions of Participation, and other federal and regulatory standards governing transplant programs. The Quality Manager serves as the program's expert in transplant quality and regulatory compliance, coordinating audits and surveys, monitoring patient outcomes and key performance metrics, managing required reporting, and leading quality improvement initiatives. Working closely with physicians, nurse coordinators, and operational leaders, this position helps ensure regulatory readiness, drives continuous improvement, and supports exceptional outcomes for children and families throughout the transplant journey.

Essential Functions

  • Manages assigned portfolio of work effectively prioritizing areas of opportunity to drive improvement in quality across the enterprise.
  • Partner and consult with leaders across the enterprise to improve quality and regulatory readiness
  • Lead by influence, participating in and leading key committees, building relationships with frontline leaders, and managing initiatives and projects
  • Manages work independently and serves as a mentor/coach to help develop the quality professionals' team as needed
  • Lead enterprise projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Quality subject matter expertise as a resource to the system, driving organizational performance that is built on relationships and a shared vision of excellence in an environment of achievement and local accountability.
  • Support the proactive, comprehensive and strategic agenda of Intermountain Health that inspires caregiver engagement, inter-professional collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
  • Advocate and support standardization to enterprise developed policies, processes and improvement activities
  • Retrieve and synthesize data as a tool for performance improvement activities, coach and support leaders across the organization in improving quality through consultation, education and leader development services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Informatics, Organizational Development, or business/health-related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution.
  • CPHQ Certification
  • Trained in improvement science (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean, or Workout and Project Management, ATP)
  • Three years of experience leading successful Quality Improvement projects in clinical setting(s)
  • Experience with change management with the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes and/or technology that enhance Quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring effective decision-making skills and the ability to work autonomously, communicate effectively, and manage frequent variations in workload in a healthcare enterprise/system setting.
  • Ability to travel unplanned and last-minute with reliable transportation and arrive at Intermountain Health locations within a reasonable amount of time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical Degree
  • Master’s Degree in a healthcare related field.
  • Experience working in a complex health system.
  • Experience with external entities that drive and support Quality approaches and standards, including government agencies, academic institutions, universities and related organizations of higher education, and other public institutions is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
  • Remain sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
