Position Overview
The Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is recruiting a Neurocritical Care Clinical & Faculty Physician to complement our established, general and specialty neurologists and supports the growth of our neurocritical care program. The Neurocritical Care Physician will perform management of patients with acute neurological disorders including those in the neurocritical care units, acute stroke and telestroke services and provide consultation to a wide range of services involving the emergency department and other critical care units within our medical center. Department/Division Overview
The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver unparalleled subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines, with services spanning 7 state-of-the-art ambulatory facilities and 3 hospitals. The department operates 27 groundbreaking multidisciplinary and personalized clinics, 3 comprehensive inpatient consultation services, an 18-bed neurocritical care unit, a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding tele-neurology service partnering with 7 regional hospitals. Our telestroke network is among the largest in the nation, encompassing 32 affiliated hospitals. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology is at the forefront of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for neurological disorders. Our fundamental research portfolio focuses on neurogenetics, neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative medicine. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field.
