Full description

Northwell’s Department of Cardiology is seeking a full-time BE/BC non-invasive cardiologist to join our cardiology team at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY. This is an unparalleled opportunity for clinicians to integrate into a vibrant, expansive network, shaping definitive care pathways and advancing cardiovascular excellence across eastern Long Island while working alongside a multidisciplinary team within Northwell’s Cardiovascular Institute. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular disease and echocardiography. Nuclear cardiology and cardiac CTA certification are desirable. Founded in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center is the largest hospital in Eastern Suffolk County, and the Eastern Hub of Northwell, the largest healthcare organization in New York. As a non-for-profit 200-bed community hospital, we serve as the primary resource for advanced healthcare services for the 250,000+ residents of the Riverhead area, Eastern Central Suffolk County, and Long Island's North Fork, including our Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory with STEMI capabilities, Level III Trauma Center, and NYS-Designated Stroke Center. Northwell Health’s Cardiovascular Institute brings together providers from across the system to work collaboratively to provide top care, to teach and train, to perform research, to engage the community, and to reach new heights in providing the highest quality care for all. The Institute’s Centers of Excellence (Arrhythmia, Atherosclerosis, Heart/Lung Failure, Prevention/Wellness, Pediatric/Adult Congenital, Valvular, Vascular, Women’s Heart Health) focus on the cardiovascular patient and care team to provide comprehensive, expert care across the network. Our comprehensive clinical programs cover all possible areas within cardiovascular medicine, intervention, and surgery. Our ~400 cardiologists across the system take care of patients in 100 office locations and 23 hospitals (six tertiary, one quaternary), and we take a team-based approach to provide innovative heart care for what others call “untreatable.” Given Northwell’s vast geography, we have designated regional leads who are empowered to steward the region and work with other local and system representatives to ensure consistent and streamlined strategies and oversight. Northwell Health is the region’s largest health care provider and private employer, with 28 hospitals and 1,050 outpatient facilities. We care for over thirteen million people annually in the New York metro area and Connecticut. Our 107,000 employees – 22,000+ nurses and 13,000+ credentialed physicians, including members of Northwell Health Physician Partners – are working to change health care for the better. We’re making breakthroughs at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, training the next generation of medical professionals at the visionary Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies and in our graduate medical education programs, and engaging our communities with innovative ways to take care of large populations. Northwell Health offers a competitive salary and benefits package. In addition, an academic appointment with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with credentials and experience. Physicians are employed as members of Northwell Physician Partners, the fifth largest medical group in the country.
