The ideal candidate will join our Supportive and Palliative Care Program and expand a multidisciplinary supportive care program designed to enhance quality of life for patients undergoing oncologic treatment. The clinical focus is on advanced symptom and pain management, advanced care planning, behavioral interventions and comprehensive palliative approach to cancer care across inpatient and outpatient setting within the Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center. This position provides an opportunity to develop further our clinical program that currently consists of one physician (Program Director) and one advanced practice provider. The initial focus will be on supporting our outpatient program. There is potential for additional autonomy and responsibility as the program evolves. The successful candidate will be recommended for an adjunct academic appointment at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) commensurate with experience and academic accomplishment. Our supportive and palliative care program is aligned with BMDACC’s mission of delivering evidence-based, research-driven, multidisciplinary care to patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies and join our rapidly growing and highly regarded faculty. BMDACC is the third partner member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network® and the Southeastern United States’ patient care hub serving within the Cancer Network’s® international program to elevate the quality of cancer care nationally and internationally.
