This is a full-time position for a board eligible or certified otolaryngologist to provide care in an outpatient setting at the Lee County VA Healthcare Center in Cape Coral, FL, and the Bay Pines VA. The applicant must be able to diagnose and manage diseases of the ears, nose, sinuses, larynx, mouth, and throat as well as structures of the neck and face and be able to perform appropriate procedures and surgery when indicated. Fellowship training is not required but is welcome.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Participate in resident and medical student conferences and educational activities. Primarily encompasses outpatient care and outpatient surgery. Will provide a full range of medical, procedural, and surgical care in general Otolaryngology to adult patients. Must participate effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Serving on hospital committees and peer review programs. You will be responsible for completing patient encounter notes and correctly coding visits in accordance with coding guidelines. Working with inpatients the provider will participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary patient care plan activities. Promptly respond to calls when contacted. Expected to attend mandatory meetings and any other meeting or focus group assigned to the physician. Support education, research activities, and emergency preparedness goals of the Medical Center. Must demonstrate continuing medical education relevant to their specialty. Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions. Communicates and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards.
