SUMMARY
The Department of Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology (THNMO) at MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Head & Neck Medical Oncologist to join our team as a full-time Assistant Professor, with a focus on clinical care and clinical research for patients with head and neck cancers.
This position offers an outstanding opportunity for professional growth and development by joining a highly collaborative team of clinicians, physician-scientists, and clinical, basic science, and translational investigators. The successful candidate will work closely with THNMO's ongoing research programs focused on carcinogenesis, cancer prevention, treatment, biomarker development, and other initiatives supporting personalized medicine. Faculty will have access to THNMO's state-of-the-art core facilities, molecular pathology laboratories, and exceptional educational and training programs, all within one of the nation's leading comprehensive cancer centers.
THNMO is supported by an NIH Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant, the HPV Cancer MoonShot Program, and numerous other programmatic and peer-reviewed grants that drive the department's translational research initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing exceptional clinical care, participating in clinical research, and teaching and mentoring fellows and trainees. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to advance innovative treatment strategies and contribute to the continued growth and academic mission of the Department of Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology and the Division of Cancer Medicine.
EDUCATION
Required: Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to faculty role and department mission Licensed to practice in the State of Texas Board certified (or obtained within departmental timeline) unless exempted
EXPERIENCE
Required: At least two (2) years as Instructor or (5) years post clinical degree with any combination of time as a: clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee (except specialties with shorter residencies or fellowships). Appropriate post medical doctoral training per discipline.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Required: Licensed to practice in State of Texas Board certified (or obtained within departmental timeline), unless exempted
