Full description

Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health is seeking a full-time Pediatric Rheumatologist to join the dynamic and growing Division at IU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will enjoy a collaborative and innovative team in the state's only board-certified group and one of the largest in the country. Our faculty is a balanced mixture of all academic levels and years of experience who are invested in delivering best patient care in a collegial environment, and well-equipped to manage patient care for a wide spectrum of conditions with access to the newest and most promising medicines and treatment protocols in the field.

The Department of Pediatrics at Riley Children's is a 400-member faculty that representants the breadth and depth of all pediatric subspecialties. We are consistently within the top 10 pediatric in NIH funded research in the United States and support 19 accredited Fellowship programs. The campus includes state-of-the-art laboratories in a dedicated pediatric research building, a comprehensive clinical research center, and a well-functioning biobank that all support research in the Department. Our nationally recognized Division of Children's Health Services Research and the Indiana Clinical Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) are available for collaboration and as a resource.

Position Highlights
  • Join a multidisciplinary team of seven faculty physicians, a dedicated psychologist, a dedicated physical therapist, five pediatric rheumatology nurses, three rheumatology clinical research specialists, and dedicated support staff.
  • Enjoy a strong work-life balance supported by a standard schedule and equitable, shared call coverage.
  • Provide exceptional pediatric rheumatology care through inpatient consultative services at Riley Children's Hospital, outpatient consultations, and longitudinal care in both local and outreach clinics. Multidisciplinary clinics include TMJ JIA, Ophthalmology-Rheumatology Uveitis, and Immune Dysregulation.
  • Engage in meaningful academic and teaching responsibilities with learners at all levels, including IUSM medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty. Contribute to the growth of the division through active recruitment efforts and innovative strategies to promote interest in the pediatric rheumatology subspecialty.
  • Participate in a robust clinical research environment at Riley Children's Hospital, an active site for national research collaborations. Ongoing involvement includes the Arthritis Foundation, Cure JM, and clinical studies sponsored by the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) and the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG).
  • Academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank on a non tenure track, commensurate with experience.
