The Department of Radiology at Tufts Medical Center, was established by Alice Ettinger, MD, a pioneer in her field, Dr. Ettinger was responsible for introducing the spot film imaging technique to the United States. The Department honors her legacy by contributing to groundbreaking academics and research that allows for care of the whole patient as opposed to just the image. This is an opportunity to work with a close-knit team, at a level 1 trauma center, who provides renowned academic care that provides to a diverse patient population.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in breast imaging and diagnostic radiology, with proficiency in mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and image-guided biopsies. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about advancing patient care and clinical research, and contributing to education and training of future radiologists at a leading academic medical center.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and analyze diagnostic images to diagnose and determine appropriate treatment plans for patients with breast conditions, including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided biopsies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the health system, including oncologists, surgeons, and pathologists, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and comprehensive continuative care for patients.
Provide patient education on health conditions, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options.
Participate in the design, implementation, and interpretation of clinical research, especially in breast imaging and related fields.
Clinical and non-clinical work-based incentives are available and paid annually at the time of annual performance review with the Chair.
Contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Radiology by mentoring and teaching medical students and residents, the most current advancements in imaging techniques, and clinical practices
Weekday shifts (on site) are from 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
No weekend calls. Voluntary moonlight shifts on weekends are available if interested.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiology with a fellowship in Breast Imaging.
A strong background in breast imaging modalities (mammography, ultrasound, MRI, image-guided biopsy).
Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
