The incumbent works independently within the service and reports to the service chief. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Primary responsibilities will include supervising teaching of the Radiology Resident Physicians. Perform standard IR procedures including drainage, biopsies, vascular access, and locoregional treatment for malignancy. Broad embolization experience will be helpful as will experience in advanced pain management techniques. Neuro vascular training will be highly valued. Greater than 50% of work assignments will be in Interventional Radiology. Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the brain, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate. Primary responsibilities will include supervising teaching of the Radiology Resident Physicians. Accesses studies for interpretation through the CAVHS Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and reports findings electronically through the CAVHS voice-recognition dictation software. Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilities Functions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians.
