Position Summary Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our Behavioral Health team in beautiful Tampa, Florida. This role provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning. You will work alongside primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver individualized, evidence-based care in an integrated healthcare environment. Essential Responsibilities Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents. Diagnose and manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and potential side effects. Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other behavioral health professionals. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management. Order and review appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies. Facilitate referrals for additional testing, specialty services, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record. Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and efforts to close patient care gaps. Support clinical education through periodic teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Completion of a General Psychiatry residency. Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Current, valid Florida medical license. Current DEA registration. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges, if required. Skills & Abilities Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills. Excellent communication skills when working with children, adolescents, and families. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
