The North Florida/ South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Primary Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician for our St. Augustine, Leo C. Chase Jr VA Clinic. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center.
This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting A summary of the duties include but are not limited to: Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting. Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care, utilizing Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence (ICARE) values throughout the clinic. Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate response to emergency health problems. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral. Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations to other clinical services. Initiate, evaluate, and change orders for medications. Follow Performance Measure guidelines, including completion of clinical reminders; access and timeliness standards; prescription order entry, National VA formulary Requirements, and customer service standards. Demonstrates flexibility in responding to clinic demands, adhere to personal and professional obligations and responsibilities. Practice and maintain ethical standards and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service oriented. Provide Women's Health Services and examinations.
