Full description

Pediatric Hospitalist – NICU
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital | St. Petersburg, Florida

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fl, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist with a passion for neonatal medicine to join our premier, high-acuity Level IV NICU as part of an inaugural Neonatal Hospitalist Program. This newly established role offers a unique opportunity to practice in a high-acuity neonatal environment while partnering closely with an experienced team of neonatologists, fellows, nurses, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nutritionists, and other interdisciplinary specialists.

As a provider at one of the largest and most advanced neonatal programs in the region, our 97-bed Level IV NICU serves as a major referral center for complex neonatal care and functions as the highest-acuity center within our regional NICU network. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to care for medically complex newborns, participate in academic teaching, and help shape the continued evolution of an innovative model of neonatal care delivery.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Join an inaugural Neonatal Hospitalist Program designed to enhance continuity of care and support the ongoing growth of the NICU.
  • Provide care for a dedicated NICU population within a collaborative neonatologist-led model that promotes continuity, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Participate in teaching activities with neonatal-perinatal medicine fellows and other learners.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, academic initiatives, and program development.
  • Help shape the continued evolution of an innovative care model.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for neonates within a Level IV NICU.
  • Manage a dedicated NICU cohort in partnership with a supervising neonatologist.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in patient care handoffs and team-based care coordination.
  • Engage in educational activities and bedside teaching with learners on diverse training programs.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Pediatrics. Experience as a pediatric hospitalist, neonatal hospitalist, pediatric intensivist, or in another inpatient pediatric care role is preferred.
  • Interest in neonatal medicine and caring for patients in a high-acuity NICU environment. Ability to practice independently while collaborating closely with neonatology colleagues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Candidates with prior neonatal experience, neonatal fellowship training, or delivery room experience are encouraged to apply; however, completion of a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship and neonatology board certification are not required.

About the NICU

  • 97-bed Level IV NICU.
  • Regional referral center for complex neonatal care.
  • Highest-acuity unit within our regional NICU network.
  • Established Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program with a strong commitment to education, quality improvement, and academic growth.

Why Johns Hopkins All Children's?

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a nationally recognized children's hospital and actively participate in the evolution of a program that will enhance neonatal care. Physicians who are energized by collaboration, innovation, teaching will find a rewarding career within our well-established neonatal team.
