8 hours in-house per day - 8:30a-4:30p
24/7 coverage with 16 hours of on-call responsibilities
Avg census is 8-15 newborns per day and 0-2 pediatric patients per day
Call includes - nurse phone consults, potential admissions from the ED, attending high-risk deliveries or stabilizing sick newborns - calls come from RN or MD not parents
APRN support is provided, CRNA is available 24/7, nursery, L&D, postpartum unit, and pediatrics are all located on the same floor
No complex subspecialty care or PICU level cases
Procedures, approx 2000 deliveries annually and growing, 1 full time hospitalist, 1 part time hospitalist, 1 part time APRN
