Responsibilities: - 24-Hour Call Coverage:
- Provide continuous 24-hour call coverage from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
- Handle all newborn care, including attending all deliveries and performing circumcisions as needed.
- Provide coverage for c-sections and manage any neonatal resuscitation or stabilization required immediately after birth.
- Emergency Department Consults:
- Respond to pediatric consults in the Emergency Department when requested.
- Assist with the facilitation of transfers to higher levels of care if necessary.
- Pediatric Unit Admissions:
- Admit pediatric patients to the inpatient unit as required.
- Provide ongoing care and rounding for pediatric patients in the unit, ensuring comprehensive treatment and monitoring.
Qualifications: - Board Certification: Must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Pediatrics.
- Fellowship: Completion of a Pediatrics fellowship is required.
- Licensing: Must hold an active medical license in Virginia.
- Certifications Required:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is mandatory.
- Hospital Privileges: Not required.
- Temporary Privileges: Available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 60 days.

- The department consists of 6 beds, and patient volumes vary depending on the day.
