City/State Bronx, New York Department Contingent Worker Work Days DAYS VARY Scheduled Hours Day Scheduled Daily Hours Hours Vary Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Transfusion Medicine Physician The Department of Pathology is seeking an M.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. to join the Transfusion Medicine Division at Montefiore Medical Center and affiliate hospitals. Candidates must be board certified in CP or AP/CP and in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Delivering complex transfusion consultations, overseeing apheresis procedures, and providing support for complex coagulation conditions. Providing on-call and service coverage. Participating in the teaching of medical students and residents, as well as in departmental conferences and grand rounds. Contributing to the development of policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as accreditation requirements. Supporting and enhancing patient blood management initiatives. Collaborating with institutional leadership, physician colleagues, and nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Participating in transfusion-related quality initiatives and process improvements. Qualifications MD/DO Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine NYS medical license NYS CoQ in transfusion services and immunohematology Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional leadership opportunities and/or responsibilities commensurate with training, experience, and academic interest, including participation in translational or clinical research. The Division of Transfusion Medicine supports a broad range of MMC specialty services, including hematology and medical oncology, obstetrics and women’s health, bone marrow stem cell transplantation/cell therapy, solid organ transplantation, and a large comprehensive sickle cell disease program. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain New York State Certificates of Qualification for Medical Directorship. Academic appointment to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is commensurate with credentials and experience.
