We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmologist for a 7-day assignment starting Nov 20, 2026, in North Carolina. This role involves evaluating hospital and emergency department consults, including surgical treatment of trauma, within an inpatient and outpatient setting, primarily on a 24-hour call schedule. Responsibilities and Duties Evaluate all hospital and emergency department consults. Perform surgical treatment for trauma cases. Deliver inpatient and outpatient care. Perform required procedures such as repair of ruptured globe, repair of eyelid lacerations, and removal of corneal foreign bodies. Handle an anticipated volume of 5-8 patients per day, averaging 5-6 patients per provider. Do not respond to codes. Avoid ICU or critical care duties. Additional Information Board certification in Ophthalmology required. EMR: Epic Provider must be within 20 minutes of the facility while on call. Epic training preferred. Inpatient and outpatient setting. 24-hour call schedule.
