General Job Responsibilities Diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Conduct routine and specialized eye exams. Perform ophthalmic surgeries, such as cataract removal, LASIK, corneal transplants and other eye-related procedures. Provide patient education about eye conditions, treatment options, preventive care and post-operative care instructions. Minimum Education Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. License & Certifications Board certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) or the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology (AOBO). Active and unrestricted medical license in Nevada.
