Full description

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital seeks an exceptional physician-leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a rapidly expanding division currently comprising eight full-time subspecialty faculty, with significant growth anticipated over the next five years. The division offers comprehensive oncology and hematology services to the diverse Brooklyn community while maintaining strong academic affiliations and research initiatives.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, Brooklyn, an ACS-level II trauma center, with 651-beds, academically affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, cares for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. Our academic programs include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs: including an Internal Medicine Residency Program and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished clinician, educator, and clinical investigator with a national reputation for excellence in clinical and translational research. They will provide strategic leadership for a dynamic division while fostering growth in clinical programs, research initiatives, and educational excellence. The Division Chief will oversee comprehensive clinical programs including active subspecialty services in gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic and breast oncology, hematological malignancies, and non-malignant blood disorders. Responsibilities include strategic planning for division expansion, faculty recruitment and development, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care across all service lines. The position involves collaborative oversight of the NYPBMH Clinical Trials Office in partnership with the Meyer Cancer Center located at the Upper East Side campus in Manhattan, facilitating access to cutting-edge clinical trials and translational studies.

We seek a board-certified medical oncologist or hematologist with demonstrated administrative and leadership experience in academic medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in Phase I-III clinical trials and translational research, with established expertise in clinical investigation and a national reputation for scholarly excellence. Experience in program development, faculty mentorship, and strategic planning is essential, along with a commitment to advancing cancer care in a diverse, underserved patient population.

This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the future of oncology and hematology care in Brooklyn while leveraging the resources and reputation of Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

The salary range for this position is $550k to $650k. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.
