IU Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified OB Laborist to join our established Labor & Delivery team, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, supporting midwives, and responding to obstetric emergencies within a well-equipped and collegial environment. Position Highlights 168 shifts annually (mix of 12-hour days/nights, with option to structure 24-hour shifts) Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units Serve as operative backup for CNMs including operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and C-sections Support the OBED during high-volume or high-acuity periods Evaluate and manage consults from the ED and inpatient units Perform SVDs, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and cesarean sections Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries as needed, with GYN backup available Optional teaching opportunities with rotating medical students Compensation & Benefits Competitive, market-based compensation aligned with OB Laborist practice Shift-based model supporting strong work-life balance Quality and performance incentives Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates Relocation assistance Forgivable loan program available for eligible physicians Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement with employer match Occurrence-based malpractice coverage beginning day one Qualifications MD/DO from an accredited institution Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology Eligible for Indiana medical licensure Fellowship not required
