About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. . This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
Evaluate a wide range of female pelvic conditions or issues, to include female pain, urinary incontinence, abnormal uterine bleeding, and sexual and reproductive health.
Perform colposcopy and office and surgical treatments of vaginal and cervical dysplasia to diagnose and treat precancerous abnormal cell growth.
Interpret diagnostic images and provides consultations on images and examination reports.
Examine, diagnose and treat the full range of OB/GYN patients, from pediatric to geriatric patients, including evaluation of anatomic abnormalities, pubertal development, sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy, and post-menopausal treatment.
Provide primary preventive care and education for women seen in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.
Work in Labor and Delivery for triage, management of laboring patients, vaginal delivery, operative delivery, cesarian sections, and recognition and management of hypertensive disorders and post-partum hemorrhage.
Perform on-call duties to provide 24-hour coverage of Labor and Delivery ward, handle emergencies, and answer urgent consultations from other specialties.
Guide, instruct and train students and other professional personnel in ambulatory OB-GYN care, including policies, procedures and guidelines.
