Position Highlights Full-time employed OB/GYN Hospitalist opportunity Hospital-based inpatient women's services coverage Collaborative physician and APP care model Current staffing model includes Full-time and per diem OB/GYN Hospitalists Advanced practice provider support Flexible scheduling structure designed to support work-life balance Combination of on-site and backup call coverage Dedicated labor and delivery support teams In-house neonatal and anesthesia coverage available Epic EMR system Opportunity to work within a high-volume regional referral center Strong organizational commitment to continuity of women's healthcare services throughout the community Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required Completion of an accredited OB/GYN Residency program Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology Board Certification required within established eligibility window Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if currently out of state Responsibilities The OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic care, including: Provide labor and delivery coverage and inpatient obstetrical management Evaluate and manage obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecologic consultations Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetrical procedures as needed Manage obstetrical emergencies and collaborate closely with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams Provide postpartum and inpatient gynecologic care Assist with surgical backup and emergent gynecologic procedures when indicated Collaborate effectively with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the Epic electronic medical record Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence standards Practice Environment Cape Fear Valley Health is committed to maintaining high-quality, accessible women's healthcare services throughout southeastern North Carolina.
