Position: Nephrologist Department : Nephrology Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Average Hours: 40 hours per week Organization: Desert Kidney Associates, PLC Position Summary The Nephrologist will provide professional medical services to patients with kidney-related conditions and diseases. The physician will diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic renal conditions; evaluate patients receiving dialysis and other extracorporeal therapies; manage dialysis access-related medical needs; and provide comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease and associated systemic conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide professional medical services to patients with kidney and urinary tract disorders. Diagnose, treat, and manage renal conditions including Renal stone disease and abnormalities Systemic, infectious, and malignant diseases of the kidney Diabetes-related kidney disease Polycystic kidney disease Hypertensive and renovascular disorders Chronic renal failure Disorders of drug metabolism and renal drug toxicity Disorders associated with the aging kidney and urinary tract Manage congenital and acquired diseases of the kidney and urinary tract. Evaluate and manage renal diseases associated with systemic conditions, including diabetes, collagen-vascular diseases, and pregnancy. Evaluate and manage medical complications occurring during and between dialysis and other extracorporeal therapies. Provide medical management related to dialysis access. Understand and address the pathogenesis and prevention of complications associated with renal disease and dialysis. Evaluate the effects of prescribed medications on kidney function and adjust treatment as clinically appropriate. Counsel patients regarding special nutritional requirements related to kidney disease. Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans. Maintain appropriate medical documentation and provide coordinated patient care. Minimum Qualifications Medical Degree (MD or DO), or foreign equivalent. Eligible for an Arizona medical license. Completion of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency. Completion of a Nephrology fellowship. Primary Work Locations The position may provide services at DKA offices, hospitals, dialysis centers, and affiliated healthcare facilities in Maricopa and Pinal Counties , including the locations listed in the source posting.
