Specific assignment details may vary based on the healthcare facility, geographic location, patient population and types of surgeries performed. General Job Responsibilities Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies, among others. Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans. Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications. Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
