About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Serve as the primary care physician for adult patients who have both acute and chronic illnesses and conditions covering internal medicine. Manage complicated medical problems such congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, arthritic conditions, etc. Examine patients, take histories, perform physical examinations, order laboratory tests, prescribe treatment and refer, as appropriate, to specialty/subspecialty care. Complete required records (both paper and electronic) pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations. Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance activities as assigned. Provide technical oversight of clinical staff (e.g. nurses, social workers, therapists, and various technicians).
