Job Details Position: Hospitalist Physician Employment Type: Locum tenens Location: State College, Pennsylvania Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,290 - $7,450 Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks with ongoing coverage needs Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Average Admissions: Approximately 6 to 8 per night Average Census: Typically in the 60s Setting: Open ICU EMR: Epic Job Requirements Board certified or board eligible physician required Minimum of 1 year of hospitalist, internal medicine, or inpatient clinical experience required BLS certification required Experience managing adult inpatient care strongly preferred Comfort working in an open ICU setting preferred Ability to complete credentialing and privileging requirements in a timely manner Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork in a hospital setting Responsibilities Provide overnight hospitalist coverage for adult inpatients Evaluate patients, take medical histories, and perform thorough clinical assessments Update charts and documentation with current findings, treatment plans, and outcomes in Epic Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests as needed Develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs and test results Communicate with patients and families regarding care plans, progress, and questions Coordinate with nursing and interdisciplinary staff to support safe, effective inpatient care Manage admissions and provide ongoing hospital medicine coverage in a collaborative environment Why Consider This Hospitalist Job?
