About the Position: This position is located at the Outpatient Clinic, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment. Serve as a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist providing care to adult patients who have both acute and chronic illnesses of all complexities. Examine, diagnose, treat and follow patients with a wide range of medical problems, including heart failure, kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, liver disease, cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and thyroid disorders. Serve as an attending physician and leader of an inpatient medicine team, supervising, teaching, objectively evaluating, and providing consultation to other healthcare providers. May perform on call duties as the MOD after normal duty hours. MOD duties may involve being called back to duty for an emergent, situation and the MOD must be readily accessible by telephone or pager during the duration of his/her call period. Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner; attend key staff meetings; participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
