Position Highlights Assignment Length: ongoing- at least 6 months Setting: Hospital-based, on-site coverage Schedule: On-site shifts; specific shift times to be determined Call: No call responsibilities Patient Population: Rural, community-based Hospital Size: Approximately 100 beds Daily Hospital Census: Approximately 50 patients Rounding: Approximately 20-24 patients per day Daily Admissions: Approximately 12 Consults: None Trauma: No trauma; primarily bread-and-butter internal medicine cases ICU: Open ICU; physician will round in the ICU EMR: Not specified Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient hospital medicine care. Round on approximately 20-24 patients per day. Manage admissions and ongoing inpatient medical conditions. Provide care for routine internal medicine cases in a community hospital setting. Round in the open ICU and manage critically ill patients as appropriate. Work collaboratively with Pulmonology and Cardiology for procedures and ventilator management. Perform procedures as clinically indicated; no specific procedures are required, but procedural competency is preferred. Coordinate discharge planning and outpatient follow-up with community providers. Collaborate with nursing, case management, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, laboratory, and other support services. Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active Florida medical license Current BLS and ACLS
