A well-established hospitalist team in North Carolina is seeking a physician for locum tenens coverage. The provider must be comfortable with EKG interpretation and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis. Coverage Dates (7 AM - 7 PM):
April 25
June 9-12
June 18-20
November 25-28
December 24-28
New providers must arrive the day before their first shift for orientation. Position Requirements:
Hospital Medicine experience required
Minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience preferred
Must hold a valid North Carolina DEA
ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Job Highlights:
19-bed critical access hospital with general med-surg beds
Responsible for admitted patient care and ED evaluations for admission
Average inpatient census: 12-15
Average admissions per day: 5-6
No ICU coverage required
Must respond to codes
Clinical duties include admissions, rounding, inpatient care, and discharge preparation
EPIC EMR system in use
