About the Clinician's WorkdayClinicians will provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on an on-site basis at a hospital in Alaska. The patient census ranges from 90-95, with individual clinician patient loads of 18-22 patients per shift, consisting of adult inpatient medical conditions; the ICU is a closed unit managed by an on-staff intensivist, and no procedures are required of the hospitalist. Documentation is conducted using EPIC EMR, and clinicians must be willing to work 7 consecutive shifts, preferably 2 weeks per month. Board certification in ABIM or Family Medicine and prescriptive authority are required for this locum tenens assignment.
