Seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to lead a multi-hospital Hospital Medicine program in Northern Maine, advancing high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care across acute and community hospital settings. Position Highlights & Key Responsibilities Provide overall clinical leadership for Hospital Medicine services across multiple facilities, maintaining an active clinical practice as appropriate. Oversee patient flow, length-of-stay management, and care transitions to optimize outcomes and efficiency. Lead recruitment, retention, and development of hospitalists and advanced practice providers while fostering engagement, collaboration, and physician wellness. Partner on performance management, peer review, succession planning, and operational decision-making. Drive system-wide quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Develop sustainable staffing and coverage models, support financial stewardship, and guide workforce planning. Champion data-informed decision-making and best practices across both tertiary and community hospital settings. Proven leadership experience in Hospital Medicine or a similar physician leadership role. Preferred: experience in community or rural hospital settings, multi-site leadership, and quality improvement initiatives.
