Physician (Hospitalist)

North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System's Medical Specialties Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Hospitalist. Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center. This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Perform daily rounds, enter daily progress notes, and coordinate care for non-ICU patients hospitalized on the Medical Service. Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment options. Lead the intra-disciplinary team and engage sub-specialty consultants to provide care for non-ICU patients hospitalized on the Medical Service. Prepare patients for discharge, enter a Discharge Summary and coordinate transitions of care. Electively participate in the Medical Education mission of the Hospitalist Section in coordination with the University of Florida Internal Medicine Residency Program and University of Florida College of Medicine. Work Schedule: Tour of Duty will be 7 days on/7 days off, 12 hour shifts from 7AM or 7PM. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Hours subject to change depending on the needs of the facility.
