IM or FM Days, Swings & Nights No Procedures Epic Travel Provided Overall Job Description We are seeking experienced Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist Physicians for locum tenens coverage within a large, established, high-volume hospitalist program. This is an opportunity for physicians who are comfortable managing a complex inpatient population and enjoy working within a highly collaborative environment with strong specialty support. The hospitalist service manages an average daily census of approximately 285 patients , including approximately 243 patients on the 7:00 AM census and 40 admissions per day . The ICU operates under a closed model and primarily accepts patients requiring intubation and, in some circumstances, patients requiring vasopressor support. As a result, hospitalists manage a significant number of higher-acuity step-down patients who might be cared for in an ICU at other facilities. No procedures are required. This patient population and their families are highly engaged in medical decision-making. Physicians should be comfortable providing frequent updates, participating in family meetings, and clearly communicating treatment plans, progress, and goals of care. The hospital offers strong specialty support , allowing hospitalists to work closely with consulting services to coordinate comprehensive inpatient care. Epic EMR is utilized throughout the facility, and travel is provided for locum physicians.
