Quick Facts Location: Brattleboro, VT Start Date: Negotiable Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day shifts negotiable (typical 8-12 hours; based on facility needs) Hours/week: 40+ Employment Type: Permanent License/Certs: Board Certified or Board Eligible, DEA required Experience: Prior hospitalist experience preferred but not required Pay & Benefits Salary Range: $300,000 $350,000 annually (based on experience) Pay package discussed upon application Benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with employer contribution Paid time off and holidays CME allowance and paid CME time Malpractice insurance coverage Life and disability insurance Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Relocation assistance (if applicable) J1 visa sponsorship support available What You ll Do Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including admissions, rounding, and discharges Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other providers Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions Order, interpret, and respond to lab tests, imaging, and diagnostics Respond to emergencies, including codes and rapid responses Manage ventilators and assist with critical care as needed Participate in clinical rounds, hospital committees, and quality improvement initiatives Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care Document thoroughly in the EMR and adhere to hospital policies and standards What You Need Required Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active Vermont medical license or ability to obtain DEA license At least 1 year of hospitalist experience preferred but not mandatory Preferred Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting About the Assignment Join a welcoming community hospital committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse rural population.
