General Job Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with blood disorders and various cancers, including administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and other treatment modalities. Consult with other physicians and members of the healthcare team on complex hematological and oncological cases. Minimum Education Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Fellowship training in Hem/Onc. License & Certifications Board certification in hematology and/or oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). Active and unrestricted medical license in California. Experience While specific requirements may vary, most locum Hem/Onc positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
