Full description

Danbury Hospital, located in Danbury, Connecticut, just 60 minutes north of New York City in Fairfield County and next to Westchester County in NY, is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist with sub-specialty interest in GI/GU Oncology to join its long established and growing practice. Our Cancer Institute is growing rapidly as we are expanding our clinical trial portfolio and positioning ourselves to be a destination cancer program in this region. The GI/GU oncologist will work closely with our GI/GU team in our Danbury and New Milford locations.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in oncology and have subspecialty interest and/or experience in GI/GU oncology. New and recent graduates are welcome to apply. There is some teaching of medicine residents and medical students. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and generous allowances for CME time and expenses.

Danbury Hospital is part of Northwell Health, which includes 28 hospitals/cancer centers throughout western Connecticut and southeastern New York. Danbury Hospital provides our hospital systems and multi-specialty practice with tertiary oncology services and is accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. Danbury has many of the key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line in place, including state-of-the-art radiation oncology and Surgical specialty services in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Nurse navigation, genetic counseling and screening are available onsite. There is ample opportunity to pursue research and clinical trials.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents with convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. Compensation: $475,000-$600,000 annually, relative to experience

$50,000 Sign on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full time candidates.
