Position Description The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine. This faculty position offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading academic diabetes program through excellence in clinical care, clinical research, and medical education at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (NYP/CUIMC). Responsibilities Develop and maintain an active outpatient diabetes practice (approximately eight weekly sessions) at our CUIMC location. Participate in the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and endocrinology fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Provide inpatient coverage for the Diabetes Consult Service at NYP/CUIMC. Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical and translational research, quality improvement initiatives, academic presentations, and publication of research findings that advance the field of diabetes, metabolism, and endocrinology. Qualifications MD degree (or equivalent). Board certification or eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of New York. Additional expertise in insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) management is desirable but not required.
