Full-time, Part-time Description Welcome to a World of Opportunity Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity Cary Medical Center - Caribou, Maine About the Opportunity Cary Medical Center is seeking two full-time Emergency Room Physicians to join our 24-hour ED, which manages approximately 16,000 visits annually. Our Emergency Department is a Level II trauma center, treating a wide range of cases. Major trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery, and other critical cases are stabilized and transferred to tertiary care centers. Our physicians work alongside highly trained nursing staff in a well-equipped department featuring one trauma room and 11 exam rooms. Patients are prioritized by severity, with Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners managing less urgent cases. Work Schedule & Flexibility Physicians create their own schedules, typically working three 12-hour shifts one week and four the next. Flexible staffing options, including per diem and part-time schedules, are available. About Our Emergency Department Cary Medical Center is one of four rural hospitals in Aroostook County and has the highest Emergency Medicine volume in the region. The patient population is largely elderly, with cardiac and respiratory complaints comprising a significant portion of visits. Transfers most commonly include psychiatric, trauma, neurosurgical, and emergent cardiac cases.
