This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. As the Emergency Department (ED) physician you will provide emergent and urgent medical care for patients of all ages who present to the ALMD ED. Care encompasses stabilization, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of the full spectrum of conditions within Emergency Medicine, including acute occupational health injuries and illnesses. Care is rendered in the outpatient setting of the ALMD ED, and clinical practice is maintained in compliance with Emergency Medicine standards as defined by relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies. Adhere to VA, VHA, STVHCS, and ED-specific policies and procedures, maintain privacy and security of protected health information, and fulfill annual mandatory training requirements. You will participate in team-based care, support departmental and facility goals, collaborate across disciplines, and may supervise or teach trainees and mid-level providers. You may be assigned night, weekend, and holiday shifts, participate in on call rotations, and cover as surrogates for colleagues as needed. Additional duties may include administrative tasks, attendance at staff and committee meetings, and participation in process improvement initiatives as assigned by the Chief, Emergency Medicine Service or designee.
