Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician
Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital is seeking a skilled Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join its emergency department team. This position provides immediate, specialized care for infants, children, and adolescents experiencing acute illnesses or injuries, working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Core responsibilities include; providing emergency medical care for pediatric patients, including trauma, respiratory distress, seizures, infections, and toxic exposures, perform rapid assessments and initiate life-saving interventions such as intubation, central line placement, lumbar punctures, and fracture reductions, Diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric emergencies, Interpret diagnostic tests, order and interpret imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds), and coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
The ideal candidate will be an effective and compassionate communicator with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, explaining symptoms, treatments, and preventive measures while exceling at maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
