Rhino Medical is actively seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity along Florida’s Gulf Coast, covering both a community hospital emergency department and an affiliated freestanding ED (FSED) within a single integrated system.

This is a highly flexible, short-term assignment offering consistent shifts, strong support, and a balanced clinical environment across two distinct care settings.

Opportunity Details
Location: Crystal River, Florida
Contract Type: Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens
Start Date: ASAP - Short-Term Coverage (3-6 months)
Shift Structure:

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Days, nights, and swing shifts available
• 18+ shifts available

Practice Environment

• Coverage across hospital ED + freestanding ED (FSED)
• 1 MD + 1 APP coverage model at both sites
• Scribe support provided
• EMR: Epic
• Transfer pathways to higher-acuity care when needed

This is a well-supported, team-based environment designed for efficiency and throughput.

Clinical Scope

• Full-spectrum Emergency Medicine
• ~2.0-2.5 patients per hour
• Respond to codes and manage admissions
• Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures

Subspecialty support available including cardiology, critical care, GI, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, and more (hospital site).

Hospital ED:

• ~22,000+ annual visits
• 16 ED beds
• Higher-acuity cases with transfer support

Freestanding ED (FSED):

• ~21,000+ annual visits
• Lower-acuity, streamlined workflow
• Efficient patient flow and throughput

Requirements

• Board Certified (ABEM or ABFM)
• Active Florida medical license
• ACLS and PALS certifications
