Clinical Scope
Emergency department evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition
Management of acute medical and traumatic presentations
Care coordination for admissions, transfers, and discharges as clinically appropriate
Documentation and order entry within EPIC
Collaboration with NP/PA, nursing, and hospital-based support teams
Schedule Details
Physician coverage: 24 hours
NP/PA coverage: 10 hours
Requirements
MD or DO degree
Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license
Active DEA license with a Louisiana address
Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS
Completion of residency training in EM, FM, or IM
Recent or ongoing Emergency Medicine experience required for non-EM boarded providers
Must have required documentation available for presentation, including active license and board certification status
