Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Fortuna, CA Employer: HPA Healthcare Pay: $275 per hour Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician - Northern California HPA Healthcare is seeking Board-Certified or recently Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Northern California beginning January 2027 , with possible December 2026 coverage for physicians who can complete an accelerated credentialing process. This is a hospital-based Emergency Medicine assignment with a mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts and no call responsibilities . The ED averages approximately 110 patient encounters per 24 hours and offers extensive around-the-clock specialty support. Candidates must have an active California medical license , DEA, ACLS and BLS and must meet Emergency Medicine-specific board requirements. ABEM/AOBEM certification or qualifying recent board eligibility is required. Physicians should be able to provide consistent monthly availability, with particularly strong consideration for providers interested in 5-7+ shifts per month .
