Physician for Trauma, ACS & Critical Care Surgery - Riverside Medical Group - Riverside Regional Medical Center

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full‑time Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon to join our established trauma service at Riverside Regional Medical Center, the regional hub for Riverside Health.

Position Highlights

• Full‑time schedule: 25 shifts per month
  • Mix of 12‑hour primary trauma/acute care coverage and 12‑hour back‑up call
• Team structure:
  • Six full‑time trauma/acute care surgeons
  • Five full‑time Advanced Practice Providers
• Scope of practice:
  • Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery
  • Collaborative practice model with APPs
  • Continuous teaching opportunities with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Emergency Medicine residents

• Compensation:
  • Competitive base salary with incentives for production, finance, quality, and retention
  • APP supervision stipend
  • Opportunity to perform elective surgery for additional compensation when not on call

Program Features

• Supported by an experienced Trauma Program Manager
• Robust infrastructure including internal registrars, PI coordinators, and educators
• Participation in TQIP and NSQIP
• Strong Hospital‑Based Violence Intervention Program

Qualified Candidates

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Fellowship trained in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care
• Eligible for an unrestricted Virginia medical license
• No history of license revocation, restriction, or susp

Education

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school (required)

Experience

• Successful completion of residency and fellowship (required)

Licenses & Certifications

• Virginia Physician License (MD/DO)
• Valid, unrestricted DEA
